Term 3 – January-February 2015

We had a very busy Term 3  our topic was Dinosaurs.  We learnt all about different dinosaurs, where they come from and what they eat. We based this term on the Harry & The Dinosaurs story books.  The children learnt about living in the swamp, there was lots of camping, jelly play, mask making, counting & sorting the dinosaurs, we searched for dinosuar bones in the soil. The dinosaurs went to school where they had lots of role-play, practising their mark-making skills with lots of letters & numbers.  We baked dinosaur biscuits and  went on a dinosuar hunt around the recreation ground and to the allotments. We explored music and sounds.

This term we also celebrated Chinese New Year, Valentines Day & Burns Night.  We ate noodles and other chinese foods with our chopsticks, the children really enjoyed trying to use them.  We had scottish meatballs and mashed swede for lunch and we baked some very pretty sparkly heart biscuits.

We had some snow, so we dressed the children up in their waterproof trousers and coats and went outside to build a snowman and had some snowball fights which the children had great fun doing.
