There has been a lot of work happening on the allotment recently and everyone involved deserves a name check (now I’m going to be in trouble if I leave anyone out, apologies in advance if I do…) so here goes.  Sharon and her family for pulling out the old raised beds and generally giving a hand (or several); Bert for ploughing the plot; Louise, Paul and Sam for putting in the new raised beds; Stef for turning up at just the right time and taking the boys to the park thus allowing Louise and Paul to finish said raised beds without serious harm coming to their children; Zuza, Amelia and Mia for weeding; all the pre school staff for digging and weeding whenever they get the chance.
We would also like to say a special thank you to Bouchiers fencing who supplied the wood for the raised beds at a very pre school friendly price – we are extremely grateful.
And it was all finished and ready to go (well almost) as the weather turned fine.  The children have been over there already planting potatoes, garlic and sunflowers with plenty of other goodies to follow.
The week before the Easter holidays saw our annual Easter Bonnet Parade.  The staff and children worked very hard and a wonderful performance of Easter songs was enjoyed by parents, grandparents and the Rev Linda Smith who had the unenviable task of judging the fantastic Bonnet Parade.  Many thanks to Rev Smith for carrying out this daunting task.
Wedding fever has hit the pre school, apparently a local(ish) girl is marrying her very own Prince Charming.  Should the bride be short of ideas for her wedding dress the children have come up with some lovely designs for her, although we’re not sure how comfortable some of them would be to wear.  To celebrate the children had their own street party on the Village Green with bunting, party food and games.  Great fun was had by all!
