Welcome Back
18/09/2018Remembrance Day
09/12/2018We had a very exciting scary, messy & fun week this week. The children came in dressed in their scary Halloween costumes & sang the songs they have been learning this term. Thank you to all the parents/families who came to support the children.
We have had lots of messy play and investigation this week with baked beans, jelly, flour, shaving foam cobwebs, insects, worms(spaghetti), pumpkin & courgettes. We made pumpkin, courgette, leek & potato soup with the last of our produce from our allotment. We have made spiders, bats, ghosts and scary cakes. There has been various role-plays ranging from a witches kitchen with insects & cauldrons to a camping in the wild and an Indian restaurant. We talked about Guy Fawkes and made firework pictures, rockets, bonfire pictures and baked firework biscuits. We also talked about firework & fire safety.
To celebrate Diwali we read the story of Rama & Sita, we made Diwali Lamps, coloured in various rangoli pictures & tasted some different Indian foods. For our investigation we had rice play and colour mixing. The children enjoyed dancing to some Indian music with the scarves and ribbons.
