Term 2 – November-December 2020
29/12/2020Our topic this term has been ‘All about me’ and Harvest. The children have been learning all about emotions, our favourite things, where we live, who we live with, how tall we are. There has been lots of pictures and paintings of ourselves, our families and our homes. We have been building houses with various construction materials, one child built a castle and her words were ‘I am a Princess and this is my castle where I live.’ We have been mixing colours with paint to find our favourite colour, baking pizza faces to eat for our lunch and making face fairy cakes for our pudding. We have painted our hands and feet and measured ourselves to see how tall we are. There has been lots of investigation and sensory play with sand, shaving foam, cereals, jelly play, gloop, flour and water.
We visited our allotments to pick our yummy sweetcorn which we ate with our lunch and have collected our pumpkins ready for Halloween. We have been for lots of listening walks around the recreation ground and a visit to the new bus stop and of course a few visits to play in the park.
We have also been focussing on Harvest and made lots of harvest pictures with various media. We visited St Leonard’s Church for our Harvest Festival and learnt lots of songs to sing in the church. Our parents came and joined us in the church and all the children brought in harvest gifts to donate and we also baked our annual loaf of bread to take with us.
