Thank You!

THANK YOU to everyone who attended our allotment open morning.

With grey skies and cold weather we were worried that we were going to have to postpone our allotment opening yet again. Thankfully Mother Nature was kind and by 10 o’clock the skies had cleared and although not warm, it was a turning into a pleasant sunny day.
Many members of our parent body and other interested locals arrived to take a look at our new raised beds, plants and improved child-friendly plot. After looking around, visitors were treated to cakes and warm drinks and an official ribbon cutting ceremony. Sam Peates and Chris Quinton were in attendance representing the Woodcote Correspondent who generously donated money to redo the allotment. Expertise in the form of Rick Brightman, Alan Farmer and others on the Allotment Committee, who spent so much time and effort digging out weeds, putting in the new raised beds and donating plants to get us started, also attended to admire the efforts of so many. We would like to say thanks to Woodcote Garden Cente and Mike Hills for the soil and compost. Thanks also to all the wonderful allotment holders, the pre-school staff and committee, the children and parents who came along in the glorious sunshine to help us celebrate the official reopening of our fabulous new allotment!!
The children at pre school have already enjoyed potatoes, courgettes, strawberries and raspberries from the allotment and we look forward to plenty more!
Thanks again.
